🪙Bitcoin consumes 'more electricity than Argentina': A Cambridge tool used to track the energy usage of Bitcoin now shows that the Bitcoin Blockchain has now overtaken the total energy consumption of Argentina and now consumes nearly as much energy as the entirety of Norway. The main problem lies in the fact that a large quantity of this energy, is wasted on near insignificant computation. Another problem is that a lot of the energy used to mine Bitcoin is largely dirty(environmentally unfriendly).
