#️⃣New Regulation Could Cause a Split in the Crypto Community: Technology is very much political, mostly in ways we do not realize. But Cryptography and more recently Cryptocurrencies have always been explicit in the nature of their political ambitions. The “No Gods, No master’s” mantra is very much an embedded aspect of cryptocurrencies… and is as such a tendency governments want to regulate. In the US, this regulation seems to be moving faster as a bill was recently passed that would seek to force many anonymous users to present taxes. This bill would likely disrupt and destroy many sectors of the Crypto community, largely the ones that cannot present their anonymous user’s taxes quite simply because they have no way to identify them. {1247 words}

🖥️Nvidia Reveals Its CEO Was Computer Generated in Keynote Speech: What if you lived in a world where AI computer avatars could speak on your behalf. Well, Nvidia showed it had the ability to create an avatar of its CEO for 14 seconds without possibly anyone besides Nvidia knowing. It would later reveal in a blog post how it managed to do so. It’s often been said that the future was here, but it just wasn’t evenly distributed. Never has it felt more true as it does now. {332 words}

🧬The first mRNA-based HIV vaccine is about to start human trials: If you’ve been subscribed to this newsletter for a while, you’ve probably been hearing a lot of news about the groundbreaking nature of mRNA-based biotechnology including the Covid vaccines and various new breakthrough studies. The paradigm shift that was the mRNA vaccine, means we may soon get an HIV vaccine and possibly, one for malaria as well. {399 words}

🇦🇫Afghans are racing to erase their online lives: A lot of us often forget how good we have it. We open a web browser or log into Social Media, mostly without a care in the world. Yesterday it would be that the US would finally withdraw its troops from Afghanistan. The repercussions of the event, are innumerable, and very saddening. While very much a forced withdrawal, it speaks nothing of the countless lives about to be changed for the worse. The country and its people may have tasted slight freedoms including freedoms associated with the expression of one’s identity on the internet that are vanishing largely due to an entity that seeks a return to medieval civilization. Social Media companies now have to deal with the ramifications of a new government that quite clearly has no respect for life or women. The big picture detaches us from the realities on the ground, namely a population that will lose many freedoms a lot of us have come to take for granted. {1681 words}
