⚡New molecular device has unprecedented reconfigurability reminiscent of brain plasticity: One of the greatest pursuits of our era is trying to model the way our brain works as accurately as possible, and replicating this process in machines and algorithms. A multidisciplinary team of scientists seems to have created a device that not merely works this way, but is able to mimic the neuroplasticity of the human brain so crucial to proper functioning. Current computing architecture has a problem in that there exists a bottleneck that arises due to the separation of processor and storage and the data that is passed between them. This design seeks to do away with the inefficiencies of classic computing architecture. (1094 words)

🪨NASA’s Perseverance rover finally snatched its first Mars rock sample: The search for extraterrestrial life on Mars has reached a new high as the NASA Perseverance rover snatches its first sample of Martian rock. Therein we hope to find more about the Martian ecosystem, the potential for life, the potential for having there been living in the past, and a glimpse into the past of the planet. We live in exciting times. (2460 words)

🧬Researchers develop an engineered 'mini' CRISPR genome editing system: While you can use a scissor as a screwdriver depending on the context, it does tend to be severely inappropriate for most cases. CRISPR as a bioengineering tool tends to be similar. Researchers as such have sought to create and seem to have developed a more sophisticated version of the tool; a version of CRISPR much more similar to a swiss army knife. (866 words)

👴🏾Meet Altos Labs, Silicon Valley’s latest wild bet on living forever: Science seems to have reached a “Tower Of Babel” moment. In the story narrated in the Old Testament, humans with the consensus and ability afforded to them by a common language sought to create a tower so tall, it reached God. For this God, would disperse humanity into various fragmented languages, such that this consensus would not once again bring about humanity that dares try to stand on equal terms with its creator. Science, the body of empirical knowledge we have about the way the world works, has in many ways become that common language and we are indeed seeking to venture into god-like territory. I’ve written quite a bit on immortality myself and must say, that I find the pursuit thereof amusing. On the technology front, it seems like a lot of wealthy people have increasingly realized the finitude of their time on earth and have sought to find a way to evade it. Altos Labs is one such organization, well-funded with many extremely brilliant people at the helm. Only time will tell if we are able to defeat the one thing that has been common to all since the beginning of time. But it is interesting seeing what the fight against death will yield. So far, it has gone undefeated. (2412 words)
